I Was Productive Today.....

So, I got alot of things done today....Finished 2 projects...Yeah!!!!!
I've been knitting hats for the Flagstaff International Relief Effort....Brenda Dayne mentioned it on her podcast about 2 weeks ago...."Knit One, Give Two" was the title of the podcast...well, it got me knitting....I was knitting the hats for 'Chemo-Caps' then I decided that this summer was for this charity since there is a deadline which is July 15th. My hats must be in Flagstaff by this date. I'm hoping to knit about 30 in different sizes and colors..I think I've knit about 12 so far....I'm trying to knit at least one a day since it goes pretty quickly..I was going to knit for the World Cup but, decided to do this instead..Maybe next year...anyway, I'm moving in August and I'm really looking forward to that. I've already started getting organized for it. I don't want to leave anything until the last minute because, I'm going to be busy until I move...Lot's of housesitting and my friends Nicole & John are having a reception July 22nd...I'm looking forward to that and the next couple of weeks...So far this summer has been good...The weather has been mild and I'm hoping that it doesn't get too hot..Chicago summers can be really, really humid and it's not good...I'm planning a trip to Phoenix in the midst of all this business..I don't know though. I really need to go there and tie up some loose ends. I have a storage unit filled with crap and I'd really like to 'purge' that and send home the things that I need or want...Personal items and such...It's just my procrastination that has finally bitten me in the ass...Here I am almost ready to move and I have loose ends to tie up 2000 miles away...Well, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger...I'm going to add my picture of Snoop to this entry because for some reason it did not show up on my entry about him...So here is Snoop...

This Is Me.....

This Blog Sucks...

It does....It absolutely sucks...I have really no time to put it to fruition...We since I last blogged things have happened...The proverbial ball has rolled...things are shifting and in a good way...I love change, seriously, and I'm rarely afraid of it...I enjoy it immensly...Well, I have recently gotten back in touch with 2 very special people. Each one in a really special way...My friend Chris who lives in Chicago has finished Culinary School..which is awesome and I'm so proud of him for taking the bull by the horns and achieving such a great goal for himself. He is finally doing what he says is his passion (cooking) it's great.. My other friend Kent who lives in Phoenix, where I lived for 4 years is also doing great in his career and his life and I'm really happy for him...He might be moving to New York which is awesome...As for me I am finally taking the plunge and moving to the big city of Chicago...It's time for me, I'm so creatively stiffled out here in the suburbs...I think once I can spread my wings in the city and get creatively challenged things will flow...I'm not saying things are terrible here..I'm just ready to move on and do something different.....

This is Snoop....

Okay, so here I am it's 2:30 in the morning and I have been meaning to write in this blog really...I have finished some projects....Some hats for "Chemo-Caps" about 4 of those and I finished a baby blanket for a friend at work who is expecting a baby...It seems like everyone is expecting a baby these days....I'm going to be an Aunt for the 2nd time in November...My brother and his wife are on their 2nd baby...So that's really exciting and my friend Nikki just found out that her baby is a boy and he'll be here at the end of September...I love when I find out the sex of peoples babies, it gives me plenty of time to knit something beautiful and appropriate... I'm a real procrastinator when it comes to this blogging thing..I guess it's still new to me....I've been listening to alot of Podcasts...Brenda Dayne from Cast-On and Quirky Nomads....I really recommend those and also Chub-Creek...I've also been listening to Madge Weinstein's Yeast Radio..which I absolutely love...but, wouldn't suggest to everyone...You really need to 'get it' to listen to that one..I'm not saying you don't...It's an acquire taste and I think that she's absolutely fabulous....
I just finished housesitting for my friends Shara and Jake they have 2 cats and one dog...(this is the picture of Snoop their Pomeranian) I love them all...they sat by me when I made some of the Chemo-Caps last weekend and finished the baby blanket....I want to knt my pregnant sister-in-law a bikini, I told her that I thought that it would be cute and she said "Noway!"......I start another housesitting tomorrow and it's for one dog and one cat.....I love them too, and I can't wait to see them...I really need to organize my photos also...jeez, thank goodness I'll have time next weekend..I have 4 days off and I am really looking forward to them........

The First Day.....

This is my first day blogging...I have wanted to do this for a very long time....Bare with me beacuse, I really have no idea how this works and I have about 15 minutes before I need to switch gears and go into work and wait on people...Yes, I'm a server...That's why I named my blog "I'd Rather Be Knitting" I say it all the time, especially at work...You'll hear more about that later when I have more time....I'll put up some pics and introduce myself better then....have a great day or night rather....
